Overview
Jhpiego is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Doctor (or equivalent) with a background
in biostatistics, public health, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to serve as an M&E Intern. The intern
will support the implementation and monitoring of project activities, contributing to evidence-based
decision-making and the successful implementation of the BEAT Breast Cancer Project in Zanzibar.

Responsibilities
• Support data collection, entry, cleaning, analysis, and reporting related to breast cancer screening,
diagnosis, and patient navigation services.
• Assist health facilities Integrated Reproductive and Child Health (IRCH) and District Health
Management Teams (DHMTs) in ensuring data quality and timely reporting.
• Participate in data verification visits and routine monitoring activities to strengthen data accuracy
and completeness.
• Support healthcare providers in proper documentation and the use of data collection and reporting
tools.
• Assist in tracking and following up confirmed breast cancer patients to support continuity of care
and patient navigation services.
• Contribute to the preparation of project reports, presentation, and data summaries.
Support the use and maintenance of digital health information systems and databases used by the
project.
• Perform other M&E-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Required Qualifications
• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with demonstrated experience in biostatistics, public health, or
M&E.
• At least 1 year of experience in health program monitoring and evaluation.
• Awareness in digital data management tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, ZanEMR, Microsoft SharePoint,
DHIS2, Power BI).
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel to health facilities and outreach sites within Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba
Islands).
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously
