Network Support Engineer
Job Overview
The Network Support Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing secure, scalable, and high-performing network and IT infrastructure solutions that meet customer and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design robust network architectures and implement solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Provide technical expertise during client meetings and respond effectively to technical inquiries.
- Conduct comprehensive network assessments to identify optimization opportunities.
- Provide Level 2 managed services support, resolve complex issues, monitor network performance, and ensure minimal downtime.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Develop detailed project documentation, including design documents, network diagrams, and configurations.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to post-sales implementation teams.
- Visit customer sites as required to provide technical support and deliver managed IT services.
- Deliver presentations and perform the installation and configuration of network infrastructure, security, and collaboration solutions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, particularly in presales and configuration activities.
- At least two years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles and practices.
- Hands-on experience with firewall solutions such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Sophos will be an added advantage.
- Experience designing both wired and wireless networks.
- Experience using IT network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, and PRTG.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry certifications such as the following are highly desirable and will be an added advantage:
- CCNA
- CCNP
- NSE 4
- Sophos Architect
- Other relevant professional certifications
