Overview<\/h2>\n

Since 2018 Jhpiego is working with the Ministry of Health and President Office to strengthen
\nimplementation of HPV Vaccination in Tanzania. Jhpiego through Bill and Melinda Gates
\nFoundation in partnership with the Ministry of Health, President Office Regional Authority and
\nLocal Government will implement a study to generate evidence on sustainability factors in HPV
\nVaccination implementation in Tanzania from 2022-2024 from HPV vaccine introduction, switch
\nto Single dose\/MAC to routinization. Jhpiego, MoH and PORALG will conduct a study to learn
\nand document key sustainability factors through HPV vaccine implementation journey in
\nTanzania.
\nTo facilitate this learning activity, Jhpiego seek services of individual Research Assistants to
\nsupport field data collection supported 8 regions of Tanzania mainland covering sixteen (16)
\ncouncils. The expected duration for this work is a maximum of 2 weeks starting from 12 January
\n2026.<\/p>\n

This position will be closed on 19 December, 2025<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Responsibilities<\/h2>\n

\n

The Research Assistant is required to demonstrate professionalism and adherence to research
\nethics and procedures as identified in the study protocol. S(he) will be thoroughly versed in the
\nstudy Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for data collection and have a detailed
\nunderstanding of data security, storage, and transfer procedures.<\/p>\n

The Research Assistant will strictly adhere to the study protocol and data integrity. The roles
\ninclude;<\/p>\n

\u25aa Conduct all study activities including consenting and interviewing participants in
\naccordance with the procedures described.
\n\u25aa Taking responsibility for safely and securely maintaining any study provided gadgets to
\nassist data collection e.g. tablets at all times of data collection.
\n\u25aa Manage time to observe time allocated for data collection so not to burden the study
\nparticipants unnecessarily during interviews.
\n\u25aa Manage short-term storage of all study data during data collection.
\n\u25aa Inform the field supervisor of any challenges that may limit data collection procedure
\n\u25aa Attend daily feedback session as guided and planned by the Team Leader\/Study PI
\n\u25aa Perform any other study related duties as assigned by supervisor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Required Qualifications<\/h2>\n

\n

\u25aa Bachelor\u2019s degree or diploma in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, Medical sciences,
\nHealth Systems Management, Sociology \/ Social Sciences, Statistics or Biostatistics?
\n\u25aa or any other relevant field.
\n\u25aa Research experience in conducting both qualitative and quantitative studies.
\n\u25aa Experience in electronic data collection and strong computer skills include the
\nability to use smart phone in data collection.
\n\u25aa Ability to facilitate interviews including probing during KII.
\n\u25aa Strong and fact note taking skills relevant for note taking during KII.
\n\u25aa Ability to read and write in English and Swahili languages.
\n\u25aa Knowledge of the Microsoft office suite
\n\u25aa Previously engaged in similar tasks not more than 2 years ago.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n\u25aa Be willing to and committed to his\/her work away from home and travel
\ncontinuously in remote areas.

\nbe a good team player.
\n\u25aa Be willing to accept daily payment in relation to the completion of the assigned tasks
\nat the required quality and standards.<\/p>\n
