ZCL operates dry ports in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and Walvis Bay, Namibia. The company also has a regional freight forwarding office in Ndola, Zambia and is present at various border points.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\">Location<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Dar es Salaam<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Zambia Cargo &amp; Logistics (ZCL) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for employment to fill vacant positions listed hereunder.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\">Procurement Manager \u2013 1 Post<\/h2>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\">A) Responsibilities for the Role<\/h3>\n<ul dir=\"auto\">\n<li>Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company\u2019s goals.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining quality and compliance standards.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor market trends and identify opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee vendor selection, evaluation, and management processes.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and monitor their performance.<\/li>\n<li>Manage procurement budgets and ensure that procurement activities are within budgetary constraints.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and control procurement costs, identifying areas for potential savings.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement processes and supplier relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct regular audits and reviews of procurement processes to ensure compliance.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and supervise the procurement team, providing guidance and support.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and development needs.<\/li>\n<li>Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with other departments to understand their procurement needs and priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate procurement policies and procedures to relevant stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Address and resolve any issues or disputes related to procurement activities.<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duties that may be assigned by a reporting supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\">B) Minimum Acceptable Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul dir=\"auto\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Professional certification is advantageous.<\/li>\n<li>7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in procurement within the logistics or.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 dir=\"auto\">Preferred<\/h3>\n<ul dir=\"auto\">\n<li>Strong knowledge of procurement principles, supply chain management, and contract management.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership and communication
