For more information on what we are building, check out\u00a0www.jazaenergy.com\u00a0and watch the video the\u00a0BBC made about Jaza here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the HR Business Partner (HRBP), you will play a critical role in shaping Jaza\u2019s people operations in Tanzania. You\u2019ll partner directly with business leaders and employees to align HR practices with organizational goals, acting as a critical link between local teams, leadership, and our global HR function. In this role, you\u2019ll lead efforts in compliance, performance management, talent development, employee engagement, and HR operations; helping to build and maintain a high-performing, inclusive, and mission-driven culture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Roles &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nEmployee Relations &amp; Compliance<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary processes, and grievances.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain in-depth knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws and HR best practices, ensuring legal compliance and reducing risk.<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance on organizational restructures, workforce planning, and redundancy procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure managers and employees within your oversight group understand and adhere to HR\/company policies consistently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Talent Management &amp; Performance<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the full annual performance management cycle for your oversight group, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and year-end evaluations.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with function leads on succession planning and talent reviews to identify high-potential talent and address critical skill gaps.<\/li>\n<li>Support talent acquisition efforts by collaborating with the recruiting team to ensure a seamless candidate experience and strong onboarding outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Advise hiring managers on attraction strategies and participate in key hiring decisions to build high-performing teams.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the integration of new hires within your oversight group, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with Jaza\u2019s culture and values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>HR Administration and Operations<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain accurate and compliant employee records across all HR systems, including HRIS and payroll platforms, in line with internal policies and legal standards.<\/li>\n<li>Submit timely and accurate monthly payroll data to the HR Lead and Rewards team.<\/li>\n<li>Draft and manage employee documentation, including offer letters, contracts, NDAs, and internal communications.<\/li>\n<li>Support employee benefits administration, including insurance enrollment, life event changes, and documentation processing.<\/li>\n<li>Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on HR metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, attendance) to support leadership decision-making.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Employee Engagement and Culture<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and implement employee engagement programs at the local and company-wide level (e.g., recognition initiatives, team-building activities, and volunteer events).<\/li>\n<li>Analyze engagement survey results and collaborate with managers to develop and track action plans for continuous improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a culture ambassador, ensuring company values are reflected in everyday management and employee experiences.<\/li>\n<li>Support and promote employee well-being initiatives, fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive work environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Supervise the Office Administrator<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise the office administrator in their daily tasks which include:\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee office facility management, reception, travel logistics coordination, printing and distributing IDs and other documents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How We\u2019ll Measure Success<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>100% completion of performance reviews<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>High accuracy in employee data<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Zero compliance issues<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Working Relationships<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Group and Country HR Team<\/li>\n<li>Country Team Leads<\/li>\n<li>Managers within your oversight group<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Experience &amp; Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Psychology, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a generalist role.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working with HR technology; experience with HRIS is required, and familiarity with a Human Resource Management System (HRMS) is a strong plus<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record handling employee relations and strong handle of local labor laws and practices<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of professionalism.<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated, adaptable, and passionate about impact-driven work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why You Should Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be part of one of the most exciting growth phases of Jaza.
