The Women\u2019s Fellowship on Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change (HMCCC) is a regional leadership and capacity-strengthening programme designed to empower young women across the ECOWAS region to advance gender-responsive solutions to climate-induced human mobility challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Implemented by the Women Environmental Programme (WEP) under the GIZ-led Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change (HMCCC) Programme, the fellowship seeks to strengthen women\u2019s participation in climate and migration policy processes, support community-led initiatives, and foster regional collaboration among emerging women leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The Fellowship Programme will recruit dynamic young women leaders from the following ECOWAS Member States: Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone for Anglophone countries; Benin, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal, and Togo for Francophone countries; Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau for \u00a0Lusophone countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectives of the Fellowship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the fellowship are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strengthen women\u2019s leadership and participation in climate mobility governance and policy processes.<\/li>\n<li>Build the capacity of young women to address climate-induced migration and displacement through gender-responsive approaches.<\/li>\n<li>Support fellows to design and implement community-based pilot projects that address climate mobility challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Foster regional collaboration, peer learning, and knowledge exchange among women leaders across the ECOWAS region.<\/li>\n<li>Increase women\u2019s representation in regional and global climate, migration, and development dialogues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They are seeking applications from young women aged 18\u201335 years from ECOWAS Member States who are passionate about climate action, human mobility, gender equality, and community development.<\/p>\n<p>The candidates must be young women who:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have demonstrated leadership experience in climate change, migration, gender advocacy, environmental sustainability, youth engagement, or community development.<\/li>\n<li>Are actively engaged in community initiatives, civil society, research, policy advocacy, or related fields.<\/li>\n<li>Have a project idea or ongoing initiative that addresses climate-related human mobility and can be further developed through the fellowship.<\/li>\n<li>Are committed to influencing policy, driving community impact, and collaborating across cultures and languages.<\/li>\n<li>Are available to fully participate in all fellowship activities.<\/li>\n<li>Possess good communication skills and a willingness to engage in cross-cultural and multilingual collaboration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must submit the following documents compiled into a single Word or PDF file:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Motivation Letter outlining interest in the fellowship and how it aligns with personal and professional goals (maximum 1 page).<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Vitae (CV) highlighting relevant experience and achievements (maximum 2 pages).<\/li>\n<li>Brief Project Proposal describing an initiative to be developed or scaled during the fellowship (maximum 3 pages).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested applicants should submit their application to the email: <strong>Fellowship.HMCCC@wepnigeria.net <\/strong>.
