responsibilities<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Under the supervision of the Vocational Skills Development Manager, the Business Development Support (BDS) Coordinator &amp; Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Focal Person will be responsible for supporting youth upskilling, enterprise growth, vocational skills development, and private sector engagement across the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The role will include the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Lead the facilitation of youth upskilling and enterprise growth support programmes under outcome 3, including developing annual work plans and budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Support the implementation of Youth Vocational Skills Development Programmes under outcome 2 in Morogoro.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate private sector engagement across the project and its interventions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tasks and duties<\/h2>\n<h3>Implementation of Youth Upskilling and Business Growth Support Programme<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Business Development Support Coordinator will implement the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Identify barriers to the growth of youth-led enterprises and co-create solutions with the SET technical team.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the design of the upskilling and enterprise growth support model, and adjust the model based on evidence.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the design of activities that strengthen linkages to upskilling and business development service providers, markets, and financial services.<\/li>\n<li>Potentially support the development of a financial product for youth.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the identification of suitable training providers and business support organisations as potential partners for the upskilling and business growth support programme.<\/li>\n<li>Manage procurement and tender processes in line with project guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>With the support of the Youth Training Coordinator, implement the upskilling and business growth support programme through guidance, technical backstopping, and project partner coordination.<\/li>\n<li>Together with the M&amp;E Coordinator, develop tools to monitor progress in outcome area 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Support implementation of Youth Vocational Skills Development Programmes<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The role will also support the implementation of Youth Vocational Skills Development Programmes through the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Support the identification of vocational skills development and self-employment or employment opportunities through training providers in the Morogoro region.<\/li>\n<li>Support procurement and tender processes for training providers in Morogoro in line with project guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Manage contracts with training providers in Morogoro.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure training providers submit reports as scheduled.<\/li>\n<li>Quality assure the implementation of youth trainings.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that training providers in Morogoro implement monitoring in line with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) procedures of Swisscontact.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct regular joint monitoring visits with training providers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Facilitate private sector engagement<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Business Development Support Coordinator &amp; Private Sector Engagement Focal Person will facilitate private sector engagement by carrying out the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Mainstream private sector engagement into SET and apply a private sector lens throughout all steps of project cycle management.<\/li>\n<li>Identify private sector enterprises as potential partners for the project.<\/li>\n<li>Support training providers in linking with the private sector.<\/li>\n<li>Develop, facilitate, and supervise private sector project activities.<\/li>\n<li>Implement training on private sector engagement concepts and analysis for SET stakeholders, where required.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that private sector engagement activities are monitored.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure data is disaggregated accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure private sector engagement activities are reported on.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly follow up on the latest innovations in the area of private sector engagement in vocational skills development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other tasks<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The successful candidate will also be expected to:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>Provide inputs for SET project reports, budgets, and work plans for submission to the Government and SDC.<\/li>\n<li>Share insights, challenges, and learning with the Monitoring, Evaluation &amp; Learning (MEL) unit.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to cross-project learning and the development of knowledge products.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to internal learning sessions, partner exchanges, monitoring, and technical workshops.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the MEL unit to ensure monitoring data is accurate.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in MEL meetings as required.<\/li>\n<li>Support mainstreaming of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and climate change across project interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Follow Swisscontact\u2019s rules and procedures, including the Code of Conduct (CoC) and Country Manual.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other tasks in line with the job description and as requested by the Vocational Skills Development Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Required qualifications, experience, and competencies<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Applicants should meet the following qualifications, experience, and competency requirements:<\/p>\n<ul data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>A bachelor\u2019s degree in economics, community development, entrepreneurship, or a related subject.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of five years of progressive experience related to business development support, entrepreneurship, private sector engagement, and\/or youth or livelihood development.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in designing and implementing youth upskilling and business development support programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience working with training providers and MSMEs.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to engage private sector actors, build partnerships, and facilitate market linkages and employment opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to coordinate multiple partners, facilitate trainings and workshops, and manage relationships across public and private sector actors.<\/li>\n<li>Practical experience in monitoring project implementation and collaborating with MEL systems and teams is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience contributing to project planning, budgeting, and reporting to donors or government counterparts is an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with youth, young mothers, or other marginalized groups is a distinct advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and environmental or climate considerations in youth or vocational programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively in a team under minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Good level of written and spoken English and Kiswahili.<\/li>\n<li>Results-oriented professional with empathy and drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Workplace<\/h2>\n<p
