We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick\u2019s DNA by:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Communicating\u00a0<strong>Honestly, Transparently, and Acting with Integrity.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Exhibiting a\u00a0<strong>Results-Driven<\/strong>\u00a0approach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Delivering solutions that are\u00a0<strong>Fit for Purpose.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Dedicating themselves to\u00a0<strong>Building a Sustainable Legacy.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Taking\u00a0<strong>Responsibility and being Accountable.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Committing to\u00a0<strong>Zero Harm.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Cultivating strong and meaningful\u00a0<strong>Partnerships.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">If you\u2019re ready to contribute to our\u00a0<strong>world-class team<\/strong>\u00a0while embracing these values, we encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our diverse workforce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\"><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/span><span lang=\"EN\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Weekly review of planned vs. actual compared to weekly &amp; monthly plans<\/li>\n<li>Provide development meters, tonnes and grades for monthly schedules &amp; forecasts<\/li>\n<li>Ensure exposed headings are mapped and updated daily without causing production delay and Lithological and structural 3D models updated in Vulcan\/Leapfrog<\/li>\n<li>Level updated by lithological, alteration, mineralization and structure plan.<\/li>\n<li>Available stope shapes\/development cuts are loaded into Vulcan for required check\/adjustment before drilling and blasting every week\/month.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure stope notes and closure notes are timely done.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Mining Instructions are timely done and all Geological inputs are highlighted.<\/li>\n<li>Assist Resource team with block model update by providing required information such as depletion shapes.<\/li>\n<li>Supervision and coordination of ore flow from underground to portals Pads and eventually to Rama ROM pad.<\/li>\n<li>Periodic truck factor test for production and haulage truck\/equipment to have correct tonnes and densities reported.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure production\/compliance reports are timely and correctly done (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).<\/li>\n<li>Assist with and participate in training programs for the development of all Geologist, Geological Technicians and Assistant Geological Technicians.<\/li>\n<li>Assist Senior Geologist in supervision\/instructing of Geological technicians and Assistant Technicians.<\/li>\n<li>All Team members to have an IDP in place and development completed within planned timeframe- Based on Operation needs<\/li>\n<li>Performance reviews completed accurately within given timeframe<\/li>\n<li>Ability to comply with departmental reporting structure.<\/li>\n<li>Be able to integrate with other sections within MRM<\/li>\n<li>Compliance to quality handover notes &amp; Communication before leaving site for leave or any other reason<\/li>\n<li>Compliance to storing, maintaining records in electronic &amp; hard copies of including but not limited to, Mining Instructions, Special Instructions, Workplace Safety Reports\/Findings &amp; Risk Assessments etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\"><strong>Qualification requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or related field\u00a0required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN\"><strong>Experience and competencies needed.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5-years\u2019 experience in mine and\/or exploration geology<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Vulcan, Leapfrog, Micromine or other mining software.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work within a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal. communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiative on projects and work independently.<\/li>\n<li>High level of organization and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated people leadership + management skills and training.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with and commitment to OH&amp;S and Environmental Management best practice.<\/li>\n<li>Database Software package.<\/li>\n<li>A valid Driver\u2019s License.
