As the primary liaison, this facilitator is responsible for developing relationships with church partners and denominational leaders that are characterized by mutual respect, trust, and service that builds up church ministry. He or she is accountable for managing partner relationships through the Partner Management core process, for improving achievement of church outcomes, and for bringing a developmental mindset to all other aspects of the partnership, including mobilizing staff and other resources to support the church. At this career level, the incumbent generally conducts projects independently or participates as a team member for major, complex, or international initiatives. He or she may coach and oversee the work of other facilitators.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion\u2019s ministry in prayer.<\/li>\n<li>Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ\u2019s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion\u2019s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion\u2019s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates a personal commitment to serve, respect, and empower the church according to principles outlined in Compassion\u2019s ministry philosophies.<\/li>\n<li>Church\u00a0Maturation\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Strengthens\u00a0church ownership and capacity through a developmental mindset and the Partnership Management core process.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates partnerships with church leaders to collaboratively reflect on youth and church outcomes and plan for how to best grow in capacity and maturity.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates the development and implementation of church owned strategies that build on each church\u2019s strengths to engage participation of parents\u00a0and\u00a0caregivers,\u00a0children\u00a0and\u00a0youth in all aspects of the ministry, including program design, local resource mobilization, decision making,\u00a0etc.\u00a0\u00a0Supports\u00a0churches as they actively identify and engage the change makers who influence change in children and youth, such as parents, schools, peers, etc.\u00a0Actively facilitates\u00a0and engages\u00a0church leadership involvement in the broader community as an agent of social transformation that promotes child development and\u00a0child\u00a0protection<\/li>\n<li>Works with pastors,\u00a0other church leaders and\u00a0church staff to identify capacity development needs. Serves as Compassion\u2019s key liaison with church partners by mobilizing and coaching other\u00a0Church Facing Team (CFT)\u00a0members and financial resources in ways that are consistent with a developmental mindset and the Partnership Principles<\/li>\n<li>Builds church and cluster capacity for local resource\u00a0mobilization\u00a0and\u00a0sharing\u00a0of resources\u00a0among nearby churches. Partners with churches to equip them to identify and mobilize local\u00a0resources,\u00a0services\u00a0and\u00a0relationships, as well as develop plans to help maximize their own resources to support the ministry to children and youth. Supports the formation and strengthening of strategic relationships and alliances at the cluster or community level to further the ministry impact of partner churches.<\/li>\n<li>Program Cycle \u2013 Provides support and guidance to the church partner throughout all phases of the Program\u00a0Cycle<\/li>\n<li>Needs\u00a0Assessment\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Mobilizes\u00a0CFT members to compile and organize information to inform the church partners about the needs of children and youth they\u00a0serve.\u00a0\u00a0Facilitates\u00a0the church partner in gathering local information about child and youth needs, and synthesizing local data with external data.<\/li>\n<li>Planning \u2013\u00a0Facilitates church partner led planning of their Child and Youth (CY) ministry.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the church partner to develop an effective multi-year strategic plan by assisting the church partner to identify and prioritize CY needs as well as select interventions that will address the prioritized needs and challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Builds the capacity of the local church leadership to invite greater participation of other church ministry leaders,\u00a0parents\/caregivers,\u00a0youth,\u00a0community leaders,\u00a0and other key stakeholders in identifying needs, planning and implementing CY interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the church to develop an\u00a0annual\u00a0plan\u00a0and\u00a0budget\u00a0to implement customized program interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Implementation \u2013\u00a0Builds the capacity of church partners,\u00a0with support from other CFT\u00a0members,\u00a0to\u00a0carry\u00a0out\u00a0their\u00a0chosen\u00a0interventions\u00a0and\u00a0monitor progress toward successful implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation\u00a0\u2013 Facilitates the church partner,\u00a0with support from other CFT\u00a0members,\u00a0through\u00a0the facilitation of a learning and reflection process on effectiveness of the interventions to inform planning in the next\u00a0cycle.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Builds\u00a0church capacity for learning and reflection.<\/li>\n<li>Coordination of\u00a0CFT\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Coordinates\u00a0Church Facing Team (CFT) support to each church partner.<\/li>\n<li>Through the Facilitation Workplan, sets goals and priorities for how the CFT will support each church partner based on the church\u2019s level of\u00a0ownership,\u00a0capacity\u00a0and\u00a0resources (maturity), the local context, needs identified by CFT members,\u00a0local church\u00a0and denominational priorities\u00a0and National Office priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Creates\u00a0Facilitation\u00a0Workplans\u00a0that are highly strategic and lead to greater effectiveness by targeting each church\u2019s individual needs.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates a shared understanding among CFT members of the church\u2019s\u00a0needs.\u00a0\u00a0Reviews\u00a0reports\u00a0and support documentation\u00a0from\u00a0CFT\u00a0members,\u00a0as\u00a0well as\u00a0perspectives from the\u00a0church partner to gain understanding of the church\u2019s unique needs and challenges and mobilize appropriate support for the church partner.<\/li>\n<li>Documents,\u00a0alongside\u00a0all\u00a0other CFT members,\u00a0the support they provide to the church partners and follows up on issues identified.<\/li>\n<li>Cluster operations\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Oversees\u00a0a\u00a0more complex cluster of churches\u00a0while\u00a0demonstrating\u00a0responsiveness\u00a0to\u00a0the local context\u00a0and needs\u00a0of each individual church within the cluster.<\/li>\n<li>Encourages,\u00a0facilitates\u00a0and\u00a0leverages cluster level activities and resources.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively seeks to foster relationships and connection within the cluster.<\/li>\n<li>Provides opportunities for development of cluster-based collaboration and initiatives between local churches for the purpose of improving ministry to children, peer-to-peer learning, and addressing other needs in the families and the community.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures the timely renewal of the partnership agreement between Compassion and the Church partner.<\/li>\n<li>Child Protection \u2013 Deepens church partner ownership of child protection standards. Facilitates development of church owned and contextualized child protection\u00a0practices.\u00a0Connects\u00a0churches to relevant evidence-based resources and internal and external supports to develop approaches for preventing abuse and promoting safe, healthy relationships with children and youth by the adults in their spheres of influence.<\/li>\n<li>Supports timely reporting of all child protection allegations through Compassion\u2019s internal reporting processes, including taking direct responsibility for reporting if necessary. In collaboration with child protection specialists and other office leadership, engages in necessary support work to ensure Compassion and the church partner comprehensively and efficiently complete internal investigations in a timely manner. Mobilizes Compassion and community support for follow up actions as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Is accountable to the Partnership Management strategic process objectives\u00a0in coordination with other cross-functional members. Implements local process improvements\u00a0and\u00a0self-development\u00a0improvements\u00a0based on metrics and feedback from the church.<\/li>\n<li>Has accountability\u202ffor Compassion commitments to the church, and for programmatic and sponsor engagement deliverables.
