He\/she shall be responsible for assisting the Director of Finance in executing some or all of following duties<\/p>\n<ul class=\"p-l-17\">\n<li>Analyse financial transactions to determine accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting standards<\/li>\n<li>Prepare, analyse, and interpret financial reports, statements, and records (e.g., balance sheets, profit and loss statements, amortization (paying back\/off) and depreciation schedules, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Assemble data for and create financial projections<\/li>\n<li>Develop, implement, modify, and document accounting systems<\/li>\n<li>Establishment and implementation of new or revised accounting policies and procedures; formulation of goals and priorities in assigned area(s)<\/li>\n<li>Supervision of the collection, recording, processing, consolidation, and distribution of a wide variety of financial and statistical reports, statements and summaries.<\/li>\n<li>May be responsible for long-range fiscal planning and policy making.<\/li>\n<li>Responsibility for all aspects of management of staff in area(s) of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile accounts<\/li>\n<li>Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted accounting policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities<\/li>\n<li>Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and support taxation issues<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain financial data bases<\/li>\n<li>Financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses<\/li>\n<li>Assists in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including \u201cBudget vs. Actual\u201d variance reports Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings; preparation of assigned Quarterly and Annual Statutory Statement pages\/schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with orienting and training employees.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with planning, assigning, and directing work.<\/li>\n<li>Participating in coaching and appraising performance.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with addressing complaints and resolving problems.<\/li>\n<li>Any other related duties assigned by the Director of Finance or other competent University authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"dlVaanciesList_divSkill_1\" class=\"form-group row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-2\"><span id=\"dlVaanciesList_lblSkill_1\" class=\"font-weight-bold\">Skill :<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-10\"><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"p-l-17\">\n<li>Knowledge of statutory accounting practices, principles, procedures, and auditing standards.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of relevant accounting policies and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of payroll processing and reporting requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent customer service skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent skills in information and communication technology (ICT), particularly in the use of MS Office programmes, spreadsheets, accounting software packages, accounting database, and other business software used in preparing work papers, reports, memos, summaries, and analyses.<\/li>\n<li>Financial reporting skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to acquire a thorough understanding and knowledge of University policies and procedures and the ability to apply that information to a variety of situations.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to plan and organize work and to function as a team player.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read, interpret and apply established internal rules, procedures and policies.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to track, collect, analyse and reconcile accounting data.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use sound judgment within established guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate work activities.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain detailed and accurate financial records.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with limited supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop effective working relationships with others.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"dlVaanciesList_divQualification_1\" class=\"form-group row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-2\"><span id=\"dlVaanciesList_lblQualification_1\" class=\"font-weight-bold\">Qualification Required:<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-10\"><strong>Desired Educational Qualifications<\/strong>Holders of Bachelor\u2019s degree in-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accountancy<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting or Finance)<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Accounting and Finance<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Accounting and Taxation<br \/>\nFrom an accredited college or university or any other qualification recognized as its equivalent, plus\u00a0<strong>Certified Public Accountant {CPA (T)}<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA)<\/strong>, with at least\u00a0<strong>four (4) years<\/strong>\u00a0working experience in the field of accounting from a reputable Accounting firm or organisation.
