Tume ya Utumishi wa Mahakama invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for the position of Hakimu Mkazi II – TJS II.
Qualifications Required
- Form Four or Form Six certificate
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a government-recognized university or higher learning institution
- Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practical Training from the Law School of Tanzania
- Computer training certificate will be an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare schedules for hearing preliminary criminal and civil cases
- Hear preliminary criminal and civil cases
- Hear preliminary matrimonial and probate matters
- Prepare and deliver judgments on all cases heard
- Issue various judicial orders as legally permitted
- Mediate disputes
- Hear appeals from Ward Tribunals
- Conduct legal research and provide advice
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
General Conditions for All Applicants
- Tanzanian citizen, aged 18–45 years, no criminal record
- These are new positions – current permanent public servants are not eligible
- Ready to be posted to any region or district in Tanzania
