430 New Jobs at Tume ya Utumishi wa Mahakama

The Judiciary Service Commission is a body established under Article 112(1) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977. Furthermore, Article 113 of the Constitution and the Judiciary Administration Act Cap. 237 give the Commission various responsibilities, including the recruitment of Judiciary staff of various cadres.

Therefore, the Commission invites applications from qualified Tanzanians who meet the qualifications listed below for each position and are willing to work in different regions and districts of Tanzania.

1.0 Hakimu Mkazi II – TJS II

1.1 Qualifications

  • Form Four or Form Six certificate
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a government-recognized university or higher learning institution
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania
  • Computer literacy certificate will be an added advantage

1.2 Duties

  • Prepare schedules for hearing preliminary criminal and civil cases
  • Hear preliminary criminal and civil cases
  • Hear preliminary matrimonial and probate cases
  • Prepare and deliver judgments for all cases heard
  • Issue various judicial orders as legally permitted
  • Mediate disputes
  • Hear appeals from Ward Tribunals
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

2.0 Afisa Utumishi II – TGS E

2.1 Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

  • Human Resources Management
  • Human Resources Planning
  • Human Resource Planning and Management
  • Labour Relations and Public Management
  • Industrial Relations
  • Business Administration or Commerce (majoring in Human Resources Management) or equivalent qualifications from government-recognized institutions

2.2 Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of all staff
  • Interpret and implement staff establishment structures
  • Research, analyse, plan and estimate training needs
  • Collect, analyse and maintain staff statistics and records
  • Handle various daily staff welfare matters

3.0 Mhasibu II – TGS E

3.1 Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce (Accounting major) or Advanced Diploma in Accounting plus CPA(T) or equivalent qualification recognized by NBAA

3.2 Duties

  • Prepare income and expenditure statements
  • Prepare revenue statements
  • Receive and bank government revenue promptly
  • Reconcile bank and other financial accounts
  • Verify payment documents

4.0 Afisa Ugavi Msaidizi I (Assistant Supplies Officer I) – TGS C

4.1 Qualifications

  • Diploma in Procurement/Supplies or Bachelor’s degree majoring in procurement and supplies from a government-recognized institution
  • Registered with PSPTB as “Procurement and Supplies Full Technician”
  • Computer literacy required

4.2 Duties

  • Keep stores clean and secure
  • Receive purchased goods from suppliers
  • Receive and store used items that still need safekeeping before disposal
  • Open and maintain Bin Cards and Ledgers for all items
  • Issue items according to established procedures
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

5.0 Afisa Ununuzi II (Procurement Officer II) – TGS D

5.1 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Advanced Diploma in Procurement/Supplies from a government-recognized institution OR
  • Professional Level III from PSPTB, registered as “Graduate Procurement and Supplies Professional”

5.2 Duties

  • Participate in preparing tender advertisements
  • Distribute tender documents
  • Liaise with departments on procurement needs
  • Collect and maintain market price information
  • Verify payment claims before processing
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

6.0 Afisa Ugavi II (Supplies Officer II) – TGS D

6.1 Qualifications Same as position 5.0 above

6.2 Duties

  • Prepare schedules of requirements
  • Manage receipt, storage and distribution of goods
  • Maintain statistics on receipt, storage and distribution
  • Supervise physical distribution of goods
  • Design store location and indexing systems

7.0 Kompyuta Opareta II – TGS C

7.1 Qualifications Diploma in Computer Studies from a government-recognized institution with at least three (3) years of relevant experience

7.2 Duties

  • Operate complex computer programs under moderate supervision
  • Schedule computer room activities
  • Maintain daily computer usage logs
  • Back up all entered data
  • Print final reports
  • Coordinate meeting arrangements

8.0 Mwandishi Mwendesha Ofisi II – TGS C

8.1 Qualifications

  • Form Four or Form Six certificate
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 in Secretarial Studies
  • Typing speed of 100 words per minute in both Kiswahili and English
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, Publisher)

8.2 Duties

  • Type ordinary and confidential letters, reports and documents
  • Receive visitors, identify their needs and direct them accordingly
  • Maintain records of events, appointments, visitors, meetings and schedules
  • Retrieve required files and documents
  • Receive and distribute files to relevant officers
  • Collect, store and return files to the correct locations
  • Prepare extracts and arrange meetings

9.0 Mpishi – TGS C

9.1 Qualifications

  • Form Four certificate
  • At least one-year certificate in Food Production from a government-recognized institution
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience

9.2 Duties

  • Clean the kitchen
  • Cook ordinary meals

10.0 Dereva II – TGS B

10.1 Qualifications

  • Form Four certificate
  • Class C1 or E driving licence with at least one year of accident-free driving
  • Basic Driving Course from VETA or equivalent recognized institution
  • Trade Test Grade II certificate preferred

10.2 Duties

  • Inspect vehicle safety before and after trips
  • Drive staff to various official destinations
  • Perform minor vehicle repairs
  • Collect and distribute documents
  • Record all trips in the logbook
  • Clean the vehicle
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor

11.0 Mlinzi – TGOS A

11.1 Qualifications

  • Form Four certificate with passes in Kiswahili and English
  • Completed militia training from JKT, Police, Prisons, Fire & Rescue, Mgambo or equivalent government-recognized training

11.2 Duties

  • Ensure all items leaving the premises have proper authorization
  • Verify legitimacy of items entering the premises
  • Guard buildings, offices and property day and night
  • Ensure doors and windows are properly locked after working hours
  • Control entry of visitors
  • Respond to emergencies (fire, flood, etc.) and alert relevant authorities
  • Advise on improving security

12.0 Msaidizi wa Ofisi – TGOS A

12.1 Qualifications

  • Form Four certificate
  • Short course in Office Attendant, Office Management, Messengerial or Clerical duties from a government-recognized institution

12.2 Duties

  • Clean offices, surroundings, toilets and gardens
  • Move files and documents between offices
  • Distribute internal mail
  • Prepare and serve tea/coffee
  • Collect and deliver mail from the post office
  • Ensure office equipment is properly placed
  • Open and lock offices daily
  • Photocopy and bind documents
  • File copies of typed letters
  • Report damaged equipment

13.0 Important General Conditions for All Applicants

  • Must be a Tanzanian citizen
  • Applications must be submitted online only via www.jsc.go.tz (no hard copies accepted)
  • Upload: signed application letter, all certificates and transcripts, birth certificate, recent passport-size photo, NIDA ID, and any other required documents
  • These are new positions – current permanent public servants are not eligible
  • Age: 18–45 years, no criminal record
