Announcement of contract teacher vacancies in secondary schools for the subject of business studies
The Prime Minister’s Office – RALG, in collaboration with Educate! Tanzania through the project to improve teaching and learning of the subject of Business Studies, is implementing an intervention to improve the teaching and learning of the subject of Business Studies.
The Office announces 400 volunteer teacher positions (contract) for the subject of Business Studies for secondary schools with high demand, in the following regions:
- Arusha
- Kilimanjaro
- Manyara
- Simiyu
- Kagera
- Geita
- Tabora
- Dodoma
- Morogoro
- Pwani
- Dar es Salaam
The objective of this project is to facilitate the implementation of the Education and Training Policy of 2014, 2023 edition, and the Improved Secondary Education Curriculum, which directs the teaching of the subject of Business Studies in order to increase entrepreneurship skills among students.
Therefore, degree graduates from colleges recognized by the Government are hereby invited to submit applications to volunteer to teach the subject of Business Studies in secondary schools that will be listed through the Official Employment Application System through the Prime Minister’s Office – RALG.
The period for submitting applications is from 1 June to 14 June, 2026.
Volunteer teachers (contract) who meet the criteria will be allocated and supervised by Local Government Authorities.
1.0 Application procedures
Qualified applicants should submit applications through the link ajira.tamisemi.go.tz.
This announcement concerns graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching in Business subjects and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education fields or Economics (Degree in Business related fields or Economics) from colleges recognized by the Government.
2.0 Academic qualifications of the applicant
Applicants for these positions are required to have the following qualifications:
- A Degree from a college recognized by the Government in one of the following fields:
- Bachelor of Education in Business Studies / Business Education
- Bachelor of Commerce – BCom
- Bachelor of Business Administration – BBA
- Bachelor of Economics / Bachelor of Arts in Economics
- Bachelor’s Degree in Other Business-Related Fields
- Basic business knowledge, even if the applicant does not have teaching experience.
- Ability to use a computer for basic teaching and learning activities.
3.0 General conditions for job applicants
(i) Must be a citizen of Tanzania;
(ii) Must be not more than 42 years of age;
(iii) Must attach a copy of the Birth Certificate, Form Four and/or Form Six certificate, and the professional field studied.
(iv) Must be ready to work in Secondary Schools with a high need for teachers.
(v) An applicant who is selected will not be allowed to change the station or school initially assigned during the implementation period of this volunteer programme.
(vi) Must not be an employee of the Government or another institution;
(vii) Must never have been dismissed or retired from Public Service due to disciplinary offences;
(viii) Must have a National Identification Number (NIDA);
(ix) Applicants must attach all important documents in the system;
(x) All applicants who studied Secondary Education outside the country are required to obtain an Equivalence Number starting with the letters EQ… from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), and those who studied at colleges outside the country; and
(xi) Must attach an application letter.
