Cotton Development Trust Fund: Job and Internship Opportunities
The Cotton Development Trust Fund (CDTF) was incorporated in Tanzania on 4th March 2008 under the Trustees Incorporation Act (CAP.318 R.E. 2002) as per certificate of incorporation No. 3352. The Fund is a replacement of the Cotton Development Fund (CDF), which was established under the auspices of the Cotton Industry Act No. 2 of 2001. Formation of the Fund was in line with the wishes of the cotton industry stakeholders as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding which was signed on 21st April 2006.
The Cotton Development Trust Fund is seeking qualified, young, and dynamic Tanzanians to join the Fund and fill the following vacant positions under contract employment and an internship program.
Available Positions
- Accountant (1 Post – Six Months Contract)
- Accountant (3 Posts – Internship)
- Duty Station: Mwanza
Education Requirements
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in one of the following fields: accounting, finance, commerce, or business administration majoring in accountancy or finance, or equivalent qualifications from recognised institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform interdepartmental audits.
- Conduct periodical cash accounting for each department to ascertain the correctness of cash and book balances.
- Perform regular and surprise/special audits of directorates, sections, and units.
- Carry out an examination of the authority’s financial accounting and supporting documents.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing systems of internal control and recommend appropriate improvements.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualitative Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management.
- Ability to handle complex data and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Degrees and professional certificates.
- Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
- Birth Certificate or National Identity Card.
- Form IV and Form VI result slips are strictly not accepted. Presentation of forged academic certificates or other information in the CV will lead to legal action.
- Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts in their CV.
- Certificates from foreign universities should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) or the National Accreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for foreign non-degree certificates.
- For internship positions, applicants:
- Should not have prior work experience related to their area of study.
- Should have completed their studies within three years from the date of this advertisement.
- Should be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Only qualified candidates will be contacted for further processes.
